Lawrence Quah - Managing Director

Lawrence graduated from National University of Singapore 1984 in accountancy and started his career in auditing with Arthur Young. After two years in audit, he move on to worked in various industries with MNCs like Neptune Orient Lines Ltd(shipping) and AT &T Consumer Products as well as local SME such as Fullmark Pte Ltd (manufacturing), Torie Holdings (property development and construction).

In 1998 he joined Keppel Fels Ltd where he worked in various overseas yards and entities under Keppel Offshore and Marine group. He is part of the pioneer team from Keppel that started Caspian Shipyard in Baku, Azerbaijan and was there for 10 years. He returned in 2007 where he was appointed the CFO for Keppel Telecommunications and Transport. In 2009, he was appointed the Finance Director for DPS Ltd (Keppel’s investment in Bristol UK). In 2011, he was posted back to Azerbaijan to help develop another new shipyard in a joint venture with Azerbaijan State Shipping Company in Baku.  

In 2016 with the new yard having started operations, he returned to Singapore and joined Keppel Smit Towage as the Finance Director. Currently, he also holds the portfolio of Acting Managing Director.

Jerry Wong- General Manager-Singapore

Jerry has 12 years of sea-going deck officer experience and obtained the highest Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) for Class 1 Master Mariner before pursuing shore career. On shore, he has over 20 years of marketing experience with companies such as Smit International and Sembcorp Logistics before joining Ben in Keppel Smit Towage. With his dedication and perseverance to the company, Jerry rose up to the rank of General Manager, heading the Singapore office with 28 tugs. Jerry has an eye for aesthetics and a taste for finer things in life. He is also a food connoisseur and enjoy exploring new food hunts.

Matthew Wong –General Manager- Regional

Armed with his Engineering Degree from National University of Singapore and his interest in commercial, Matthew started his marine-related career as a marketing officer in a shipyard. He then moved on to Smit offshore and salvage in 2001 before transferring to Smit Terminal department. His consistent performance and his people skills were recognized when he was promoted to the General Manager (Regional) of Keppel Smit Towage. His regional portfolio includes China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Matthew enjoys traveling and meeting new people. Watching sports and taking care of his aquarium are the few relaxing activities which he does.
